Music Hall built (now known as the Annex) to house the Conservatory of Music.
1903
Bachelors degrees were granted in three courses of study: humanities/classical, science, and literature. This completed the transition from seminary to college.
1904
The Seminary Collegiate changed its name to the Pharos upon the suggestion of Professor W.O. Mills.
The first yearbook was published, and was named the Murmurmontis upon the suggestion of Latin professor Frank Trotter. The word roughly translates to “voice of the mountains.”
The name of the college was changed to Wesleyan University of West Virginia

Lynch-Raine Administration Building built
The trustees voted to change the name of the school to West Virginia Wesleyan College.
The seminary course of study was shortened to three years and the name of that program changed to the preparatory department.

Carl G. Doney elected president (1907-1915)

1908
The name of the preparatory department was changed to The Academy. This program continued until 1922.
