Football team was undefeated, including a 19-14 upset of West Virginia University.

1914

Haymond Hall of Science built

The first state high school basketball tournament was organized by Harry A. Stansbury (Acad. 1909; College 1915) while still a student. Tournament was played at West Virginia Wesleyan College until it moved to West Virginia University in 1938.

Baseball team won its first state championship

President Doney and his family took a  ten month leave of absence to travel in Europe. While they were there, Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated and World War I was declared.


1915

President Doney resigned to become president of Willamette University.

Wallace B. Fleming elected president (1915-1922)

New programs were added in Religion and Bible.


1916

New programs were adede in Domestic and Agricultural Science.

Baseball won its second state championship
