  • 1940 called into active service
  • Served at San Francisco and Charleston (S.C.) ports of embarkation as executive officer and cargo security officer
  • Overseas duty in Africa and the Middle East
  • In command of ARADAMAC (the Army Aeronautical Depot Maintenance Center) in Corpus Christi, TX at the time of his military retirement in 1962
  • Retired from the Army in 1962 and returned to Upshur County
  • Ruling Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Buckhannon
  • Past president of the Heidelberg-Frankfurt Chapter of the National Defense Transportation Asociation and of the Susquehanna Chapter of the same organization
