President Broyles was in office only three years before he died of a sudden heart attack on September 29, 1945. His contact with Annie Merner Pfeiffer and the Loar and West families led to future building opportunities.
Serving the presidency at the height of World War II, he oversaw the hosting of 774 Aircrew Cadets from the 49th Army Training Corp, the 487 Wright Field Aides, and the 78 Cadet Nurses between 1943 and 1945.
