Mayor Bryant is an active member of the Methodist Church in Summersville. He sings tenor in the choir. He is serving his fifth term of office and much public construction has taken place since he first became mayor of Summersville.
The native of Raleigh County takes part in varied community activities. As an aviator whose plane takes him to the firm’s Cleveland, Ohio, headquarters and to all parts of the country in interest of coal sales, Mayor Bryant has more than passing interest in a 3,000-foot run way at the Summersville airport. He won a Distinguished Flying Cross as a Navy pilot in World Warr II in the Pacific.
