Kent Chargugundla

Kent Charugundla is receiving an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. He is the President of Tunnel, Inc. and Tunnel (CAN), Inc. His work includes providing ASL/TextRelay/Captioning services to the deaf and hard-of-hearing in the United States and creating one of the first Automatic Call Distrubution software in the country. Charugundla holds positions on the Boards of ShelComm, Empire Ventures, LLC, the Incubation Fund, SXSW, OrecX, Building and Grounds Committee of the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City, and Eagle.Net, LLC, having served as President and CEO of Eagle Teleconferencing Services, Inc. from 1991-2015. He is also a former board member of World Concern, Tamarind Art Council, NAAIC, and Guggenheim Asian Art Board. Charugundla received his bachelor’s degree from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, and a master’s degree in management of technology from New York University. He was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award for Telecommunications in 2005 and has received more than 20 awards from industry peers and publications for his service, innovation, product, and bes of best awards.

According to the article on the WVWC website: He has established educational partnerships with colleges and universities across the country, including West Virginia Wesleyan College.  Wesleyan’s partnership with Eagle.Net, LLC provides at least two paid internships per semester to students in graphic arts, communication and public relations, and business.  In addition, he and his wife, Marguerite, will soon endow a scholarship to assist students who are pursuing majors in art, music, and theatre.
