Tom served in leadership roles in several oil, gas, and petroleum organizations in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio as well as Indepent organizations. In conjunction with the Oil and Gas Festival, he was named the West Virginia Oil and Gas Man of the Year in 1982 and was one of the two initial recipients of IOGA WV Distinguished Service “Gunslinger” Award, 1992
He was well-known throughout the area for his active involvement in civic projects and organizations incuding membership on the Board of Directors of St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation and the Upshur County Development Authority. Tom was named the Buckhannon Business & Professional Women’s Club Outstanding Employer of the Year, 1985.
A member of the WVWC Board of Trustees from 1984-1990 and again from 2000-2008, he also provided great leadership for his Alma Mater. He received the 1982 Alumni Award in recognition of outstanding loyalty and service.
