Presidents – Wallace Bruce Fleming (1915-22)

The first couple of years of Fleming’s presidency saw the creation of a much-needed financial campaign for the college and the development of new academic programs. World War I had a major impact on the campus during these years.
A Student Army Training Corp trained here from October through December1918, during which time The “Spanish Influenza” epidemic caused the AnnexBuilding to be used as a hospital facility for quarantine purposes.
PresidentFleming wrote the lyrics for our Alma Mater in 1918.
