Harvey P. White was a member of the West Virginia Wesleyan College Board of Trustees from 1996 to 2004. He first came to Wesleyan from Parkersburg, West Virginia as a freshman in the Class of 1955. He attended Wesleyan for two years before transferring to Marshall University where he received a degree in economics. A leader in the wireless communication industry, Mr. White was one of seven founders of Qualcomm, Inc. in San Diego, California. He served as president of Qualcomm from 1992 to 1998 and then as president and chief executive officer of Leap Wireless International from 1998 to 2004. Mr. White is chairman of (SHW)2 Enterprises, a business development and consulting firm. He and his wife, Sheryl, reside in Del Mar, California. He has three children and a stepson.
