This residence hall was named for Edna Jenkins (Seminary, 1902), Trustee, 1943-56. The 1951 Murmurmontis was dedicated to her in appreciation of her philanthropy (including the Home Economics Cottage, a new Moeller Jenkins Hall organ, a new Steinway Concert Grand piano, and numerous scholarships).
The Wellness Center is now in the location where there had previously been a cafeteria.
Completed and occupied in the fall of 1959. The hall was erected by the John Vandergrift Company at a cost of $712,000, and $35,000 for the furnishings. The dining hall was named the Benedum Dining Hall in honor of Michael L. Benedum and Dr. Paul B. Benedum. The lounge was named for Miss Jessie B. Trotter in honor of Miss Trotter who taught Latin and mathematics in the seminary and college from 1896 to 1912. [Plummer, p.105]
