Because of the transition the show was not performed until February of 1947 instead of during the first term. The play was on Broadway in 1944 and was currently touring at the time of the performance. While the original play used turnstiles this play used mobile sets.

Atkinson ChapelThis musical tragedy was concieved by Play Shop member Stan Meyers and written by Wesleyan students. This was the first musical play performed by the Play Shop and was sponsored by the junior class. However the production almost fell through and barely made over $100 dollars (which the ticket seller almost lost). Apparently the cast was not taking the project serious enough despite the threats of director Meyers and students did not come after hearing that the show had the potential for disaster. The Pharos: Volume 45, number 07, 02-10-1950
